Hi! I’m Blair.
I teach mindfulness meditation, lead events centered around improving communication & emotional intelligence skills, and coach people on living bold heart-filled lives that feel uniquely theirs.
Looking back, having two therapists and meditators as parents probably had at least something to do with my deep curiosity about humans and our inner worlds. As a kid though, I was more interested in writing silly songs with friends than sitting still for 5 minutes. But life has a funny way of opening doors for us when we’re ready.
The door to meditation for me opened in college via the guidance of a close friend and the teachings of Tara Brach. I began to realize just how often my mind was constantly stressing about the future or rehashing the past— making meditation a regular practice helped me navigate life with more ease.
But the door to supporting others slammed open for me several years ago, hitting me in the face as I painfully “crash landed”. I had been feeling stuck and needed to let go of the comfortable and well-validated identities I had built for myself, my work, and my long-term partnership. Then… they all seemed to crumble at once. It felt terrifying to step out of the familiar into a period of complete unknown. But ultimately I couldn’t hold on, and I felt forced to surrender completely.
Powerful and challenging questions emerged in the darkness: Who am I at my core, removed from my attachments to others’ validation? What do I actually (no, but really, ACTUALLY) care about? What’s worth building a life around? How can I hear and honor my own needs while still remaining in connection with others?
Desperate for relief, I initially tried to just “think really hard” about the answers, but not much came from it. Things got clearer as I leaned into the support of practices, trainings, and people that took me out of my overthinking mind and into the intelligence of my body— like regular meditation, Circling (a relational mindfulness practice), and working with a Somatic (mind-body) coach and therapist.
What emerged was a stronger and more compassionate friendship with myself and a deep trust in my gifts of supporting others and equipping them to navigate life’s ebbs and flows with more sturdiness and trust.
My current purpose? Using my unique essence to (in the way only I specifically can) help people discover and live the lives that only they uniquely can.
It feels clear to me that our world is urgently calling for more people with the courage to be themselves, to accept and stand on who they truly are, and inspire the rest of us to do the same.
That’s why I coach.
